Ryan Doherty reveals two team changes in the USA on social media
It’s not often you see beach stars openly asking for new teammates on social media – but that’s exactly what we saw on Ryan Doherty’s Facebook page on Monday.
The 7ft 1in blocking sensation from the United States dropped a massive bombshell by revealing a double break-up.
Doherty publicized that his partner from last season, 45-year-old legend John Hyden, will join forces with Theo Brunner for the 2018 season on the sand.
"The only thing that is constant is change." -Heraclitus Johnny Jamba is going to play behind the human wall, Theo Brunner next year. Nothing but gratitude to H-Bomb for helping me to improve my own...
“Nothing but gratitude to H-Bomb [Hyden] for helping me to improve my own game this past season and I wish them all the best unless they are in my bracket,” wrote Doherty on his Facebook page.
“So it looks like I am back on the market for next year...Please have your application filled out in full and the line forms to the left.
That new constellation means that Casey Patterson – who played with Brunner last season and were wildcards for the Swatch Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour Finals presented by Vodafone in Hamburg – will also be on the lookout for a new teammate for the season ahead.
What the next step for Casey and Ryan will be is anyone’s guess – however, the pair are no strangers to one another – you only have to go back to 2012 when they played together on the AVP Tour. During that time, they won three of the nine events they took to the sand. What are you waiting for then guys, give each other call!
